Information & Benefits

Peak health, fitness and well-being demand more than good nutrition and an active lifestyle. As Canadians we need to be proactive and diligent with regular internal cleansing of the colon as a result of the toxins we are exposed to everyday.

Our modern lifestyles with refined, processed, low-fibre diets, lack of exercise, prescription drugs and increased levels of stress contribute to our toxic load. Pesticides, preservatives, antibiotics, growth hormones, excessive dietary habits and the over-consumption of fast foods, cause a slowing down of the elimination process through the colon. If our elimination systems are under-active and the toxins accumulate faster than can be eliminated, then the body’s defences can be compromised.

In terms of bowel movements, if we eat three meals a day we should be having three bowel movements per day. Most people eliminate on average once daily, so what is happening to those other two meals? Even people who have three bowel movements per day may still be having incomplete bowel movements due to poor diet, stress and dehydration. The toxins and wastes from all of these habits can gradually accumulate in the colon. It is estimated that the average person has between 5-15 pounds of accumulated waste material in the colon, and can accumulate 5 pounds of waste yearly.

When unexpelled fecal material builds up in the colon due to poor dietary habits, the absorption of vital nutrients slows down to the degree of build up. The accumulated build up on the bowel wall becomes a breeding ground for unhealthy bacterial life forms (parasites). In addition, the capillaries in the colon absorb these toxins and poisons and they are passed into the digestive system. The absorption of toxins from within the body’s digestive system is a form of self-poisoning or “autointoxication” on a physiological level. Connected to the digestive system are your circulatory and lymphatic systems.  Toxins can thereby enter the bloodstream and settle into the tissues and organs, creating many different states of disease, including autoimmune disorders. This is believed to be the root cause of many illnesses.

You may begin to experience the following conditions:

  • Poor digestion, bloating and gas
  • Constipation, laxative abuse
  • Overweight, bloating or rigid abdomen
  • Irritable bowel
  • Candida overgrowth
  • Poor digestion, abdominal discomfort or nausea
  • Allergies, food sensitivities
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Frequent colds or flus
  • PMS or menstrual problems
  • Depression, fatigue, mental confusion, brain fog
  • Diverticulosis
  • Arthritis
  • Eczema, psoriasis, acne
  • Bad breath, body odour, coated tongue
  • Low libido

As long as the colon remains toxic, the liver and other organs of the body will remain congested. As toxicity in the body’s storage areas increases, vitality decreases and parasites increase. Some examples of conditions resulting from toxic storage include arthritis (deposits of toxins and unnatural calcium in joint tissues), fibromyalgia (toxins and unnatural calcium in muscle tissue, atherosclerosis (fatty deposits inside arteries) and gout (storage of uric acid as far from the heart as possible).

Eventually, when the body is faced with too many toxins to eliminate, the body stores the toxins in the cells. What eventually occurs is the degeneration and eventual mutation of cells. The cells are no longer able to reproduce themselves in their original healthy form and they begin to reproduce as diseased cells. Cancer cells for example are a result of this process. Colon cancer, one of the leading causes of death in Canada, can result from years of autointoxication.

Disease begins and ends with the colon! If the colon is cleansed the pressure is relieved and the rest of the body is able to start dumping its toxins. The body can then begin to heal and reverse the disease process.

There are ways to improve colon health:

  • A diet high in fibre;
  • Taking probiotics (to aid digestion and help protect against harmful bacteria); and,
  • Regular colon cleanses (to reduce the toxicity in our bodies, improve digestion and overall health).

Cleansing adds years to your life and life to your years!
